Over 85 GW of renewables in Brazil request deadline extension

Aneel has received applications for around 85.4 GW to be included in the provisional measure (MP) 1212/2024, which extends benefits to renewable generation sources. Majority of the applications are for solar plants. The projects have 36 months to start commercial operations to qualify for discounts on transmission and distribution system tariffs.
