OWC appraises Black Sea for offshore wind

Renewable energy consultancy OWC has completed a zonal appraisal and technical-economic feasibility study for potential offshore wind areas in the Black Sea, particularly in Romania. The client, Black Sea Oil & Gas (BSOG), is evaluating the viability of offshore wind concession areas and utilizing its energy corridor and reception facilities for development. OWC, along with its sister company ABL, provided specialized offshore wind expertise and local market know-how to support BSOG. The World Bank presented findings of Romania's Offshore Wind Roadmap Study projecting up to 7GW of offshore wind capacity in Romania by 2035.
