Researchers at Nanjing Tech University in China have designed a perovskite solar cell with a Mortise-Tenon (M-T) structure that enhances cell performance and durability by increasing the contact area between the perovskite absorber and the hole transport layer. The cell design includes various elements such as glass/fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) substrate, SnO2-based HTM, perovskite absorber with N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone, spiro-OMeTAD layer, and a gold (Au) metal contact. The champion device achieved a power conversion efficiency of 24.55%, demonstrating improved charge transport and high-quality perovskite/NVP films.
