Researchers at Hangzhou Dianzi University in China developed a perovskite solar cell using potassium trifluoromethanesulfonate (KTFS) to reduce lead vacancy defects in the perovskite film. The KTFS molecule interacts with perovskite to reduce non-radiative recombination. The study demonstrated improved film morphology and crystallinity with KTFS treatment, resulting in a lower lead impurities count. The modified cell showed enhanced efficiency, stability, and reduced hysteresis compared to the control cell.
