Researchers at Hangzhou Dianzi University in China have developed a perovskite solar cell using potassium trifluoromethanesulfonate (KTFS) to reduce lead vacancy defects. The KTFS molecule interacts with perovskite by passivating lead defects and inhibiting non-radiative recombination. The study showed that KTFS improves surface morphology, crystallinity, and stability of perovskite films. The solar cell achieved a high efficiency of 23.96% and low hysteresis index with KTFS modification.
