The Department of Energy (DOE) in the Philippines has announced a second competitive selection process (CSP) for developing microgrid systems to provide power to underserved areas. Providers will bid to electrify 41 lots covering 12,212 households. The auction process begins in August 2024, with awards expected in December 2024. A consortium including Maharlika Clean Power Holding and WEnergy Global won contracts earlier this year to develop hybrid microgrid systems in Cebu, Quezon, and Palawan. The Philippine government aims to provide electricity to all households by 2030.
