Philippines to launch tender for renewables and energy storage before end of this year

The Philippines Department of Energy assistant secretary Mario C. Marasigan highlighted the importance of energy storage systems and renewable energy targets during the Energy Storage Summit Asia 2024 in Singapore. The government plans to conduct a green energy auction for variable renewable energy integrated with energy storage systems to accelerate storage deployment. The government also aims to launch renewable energy and energy storage microgrids in rural areas to reduce the use of diesel generation.
