Powin supplies US microgrid project

Powin is partnering with BHE Renewables to deliver one of the largest solar and storage microgrids in the US. The project, in Ravenswood, West Virginia, will supply renewable energy to TIMET for manufacturing titanium products. Powin will provide a 50MW battery energy storage system and a 106MW solar array for the microgrid. The battery system will discharge energy continuously for 10 to 12 hours, demonstrating the application of lithium-ion phosphate batteries for long-duration applications. The partnership meets domestic content requirements outlined in the Inflation Reduction Act to boost the US economy.
