Pumped hydro storage development surging in India

Torrent Power in India signed an agreement with Maharashtra government to develop three pumped storage hydro projects totaling 5.7 GW capacity. NHPC, a state-owned producer, is also exploring pumped storage projects in multiple states including Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha.
