PVEL releases tenth edition of ‘PV Module Reliability Scorecard’

PV Evolution Labs (PVEL), a testing lab for downstream solar industry and member of Kiwa Group, published its 2024 PV Module Reliability Scorecard. The Scorecard names 388 model types of PV modules from 53 manufacturers as Top Performers, emphasizing manufacturers who are Top Performers in multiple categories. Kiwa PVEL uses the Product Qualification Program (PQP) to provide empirical data for PV module benchmarking and project-level energy yield. The PQP was expanded in fall of 2023 with new tests addressing concerns around ultraviolet-induced degradation and mechanical durability. Other updates include a new Top Performer category for hail and raised qualifications for LID+LETID and PAN Top Performers. Manufacturers must meet certain criteria to be eligible for the Scorecard.
