Reliance Industries completes sale of REC’s polysilicon unit

RIL's REC Solar Holdings AS unit completes the sale of its kerf-based polysilicon manufacturing division, REC Solar Norway, to Elkem ASA. The deal includes selling REC Norway's equity stake for $22 million. REC Norway ceased its polysilicon production in November 2023 due to viability issues. RIL will keep the kerf-based polysilicon technology and intellectual property rights.
