Renalfa IPP starts operating Bulgaria’s largest BESS project with Hithium/Kehua tech

A 25MW/55MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) has been commissioned in Bulgaria by operator Renalfa IPP, co-located with a PV plant in Razlog. The project aims to trade energy on the market with the support of KER Toki Power. Renalfa IPP, a joint venture, focuses on renewable assets and plans to mitigate PV profile risk through hybrid solutions. Other projects in neighboring countries like Romania and Hungary are also in development. The article discusses the growth of renewable generation projects and energy storage in Eastern Europe.
