Renewables to account for over 33% of global power in 2024 - Rystad

The share of renewable energy in the global power generation mix will exceed one third in 2023, reaching 33.4% in 2024 according to a report by Rystad Energy. Non-fossil energy sources are expected to surpass fossil fuel supply by 2028. Coal remains a significant player, providing over one-third of global electricity supply in 2024. The renewables sector is predicted to see over USD 750 billion in capital expenditure in 2024 with solar PV leading the way.
