Rețele Electrice companies in Romania are investing in network digitalization by purchasing smart meters worth up to 4.6 million euros. The smart meters will enhance the resilience and operational flexibility of the distribution networks, improve service quality, and support the energy transition in Romania. The General Manager, Mihai Pește, highlights the significance of smart meters in managing energy flows efficiently and enabling new market services. The tender aims to acquire smart meters for three-phase connections to reach approximately 1.7 million installations by the end of 2024, covering 53% of customers in Muntenia, 50% in Banat, and 59% in Dobrogea.
