Romania approves CfD scheme for auctioning 5 GW of wind, solar capacity

The Ministry of Energy of Romania approved the subsidy mechanism for contracts for difference (CfD) for wind and solar power projects. The plan includes holding auctions for a total of 5 GW capacity in two rounds. The contracts are for 15 years with a minimum capacity of 5 MW. The European Union's Modernisation Fund will cover the CfD subsidies.
