Romania holds first renewables auction

Romania has launched its first renewables auction for 1500MW of capacity, supported by EBRD and funded by Spain and the European Union. The auction includes 500MW of solar and 1GW of onshore wind, aiming to scale up the share of renewables in Romania's energy mix. EBRD supports the design and implementation of the scheme, with plans to contribute to scaling-up private sector investments in the sector.
