Romania is the next market for investors in data centers

Global spending on public cloud services is expected to grow by 20.4% in 2024. Romania is becoming a significant market for data center construction with major investments expected. Jurica Franetovic, Sales Director Enterprise CEE at Vertiv, emphasized the shift towards new markets like Warsaw, Israel, Bucharest, Zagreb, and Athens for investments. He highlighted the importance of working with local partners, supporting the industry, and benefiting from AI development. Franetovic pointed out the need for energy systems and thermal management to support AI, mentioning Vertiv's operations in Bucharest and Cluj. He also discussed future trends in data center construction, stressing the adoption of greener technologies, liquid cooling systems, energy storage technologies like BESS, and prefabricated modular solutions for operational efficiency and sustainability.
