Romania launched the CfD mechanism with EBRD support

Romania has launched a Contract for Difference (CfD) mechanism for renewable energy installations with EBRD support. The first auction is for 1.5 GW of renewable energy generation capacities, aiming to scale up the renewables share in the energy mix. The financing is ensured by funds from the European Union Modernisation Fund. EBRD is actively supporting Romania's move towards cleaner energy.
