Romania launches 1.5 GW renewables auction

Romania's Ministry of Energy has launched the country's first renewable energy auction under a CfD scheme. The authorities are seeking to allocate 1 GW of wind power and 500 MW of PV capacity with specific project capacities and strike prices. The auction aims to allocate 5 GW of wind and solar capacity as part of the renewable energy procurement scheme. The Romanian government has increased its renewables targets with specific goals for solar and wind capacity.
