Romania mandates energy storage for prosumers

The new Law 255/2024 in Romania mandates prosumers with PV systems to install energy storage systems. Prosumers with installations between 3 kW and 400 kW must comply by December 31, 2027, or face restrictions on electricity export. The regulation requires storage systems to match a percentage of solar array capacities to reduce network congestion and blackouts.
