Romania rejects Brussels advice, sets 2030 renewables target at 38.3%

Romania aims to increase its power plant capacity to over 32,000 MW by 2030, with 75% from renewable sources. The country plans to add renewables, nuclear energy, and gas-powered facilities. It also aims to stop importing solid fossil fuels by 2030, decommission coal power plants by 2050, and increase the share of renewables in energy consumption. The government finds the EU's 41% renewables target too ambitious.
