Romania experienced a 30% increase in electricity consumption during hot summer days, leading to reliance on imports despite efforts to boost domestic production. The capital city, Bucharest, saw a 45% surge in electricity usage compared to normal summer days. Ilfov county also reported high electricity consumption surpassing the combined figures of Timișoara and Arad.
