Saft to deliver 200MWh BESS at New Zealand’s biggest electricity generation site

Saft, a subsidiary of French energy giant TotalEnergies, will provide Genesis Energy in New Zealand with a 100MW/200MWh utility-scale battery energy storage system at Huntly Power Station. The system will be based on Saft's 'iShift' lithium iron phosphate battery containers and is planned to come online in the third quarter of 2026. Saft's expanding presence in the New Zealand market and growing reputation of its energy storage solutions are highlighted.
