Salzgitter to procure solar power from Energiekontor

Energiekontor AG to supply Salzgitter AG with over 120 GWh of green electricity annually from two solar parks in northeastern Germany. Salzgitter to save about 84,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. The two solar parks in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will have a total generation capacity of around 113 MWp. Salzgitter plans to make its steel production climate-neutral by using green electricity to produce hydrogen and cut carbon dioxide emissions by 95%.
