SCE, Lotus win California grid upgrade gig

Southern California Edison and Lotus Infrastructure Partners have won a tender to deliver transmission infrastructure in California to accommodate more renewables. The project involves building a high voltage transmission line from Serrano substation to a substation near the retired San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, utilizing existing rights of way. The partnership aims to address the increasing electricity demand driven by growth in EVs, heat pumps, data centres, and electrification, enabling more clean energy projects to meet California's goals.
