Scientists classify weather types based on extreme photovoltaic output events

Researchers from the China Electric Power Research Institute have developed a new extreme output prediction model based on anomalous PV output events and different weather types in the East China region. They used clustering and linear regression analysis with meteorological data to predict abnormal output events. The model aims to help in preventing electricity wastage or shortages and ensuring the safe operation of power grids.
