Sheep grazing team to reduce solar mowing costs by more than 44%

A group of sheep from Old Slate Farm in Ohio has been brought to Oberlin College's solar field to graze on weeds and grass, reducing the need for maintenance operations. This agrivoltaics approach aims to lower fossil fuel emissions and prevent equipment damage. Oberlin signed an agreement with Old Slate Farm to deploy the sheep before summer, with more sheep deliveries planned throughout the year.
