Solar nears 9% of US total electric generation capacity

FERC released its Energy Infrastructure Update for May 2024, highlighting the growth in renewable energy, particularly solar, in the United States. Solar led in capacity additions, surpassing wind and other technologies. Natural gas remains the dominant energy source but solar is expected to play a significant role in future grid additions.
