SolarDuck, Tokyu Land install Japanese floating solar pilot

SolarDuck and Tokyu Land Corp. installed Japan's first offshore floating solar facility in Tokyo Bay. The 80-100 kW capacity unit will demonstrate power generation for electric vehicles and an electric boat. Energy will be stored in land-based batteries for mobile use. Plans include expanding the urban model to other areas in Japan and abroad with the support of the Tokyo metropolitan government. SolarDuck also secured €15 million for offshore floating solar technology.
