Solidcore Resources plc, a Kazakhstan-based gold mining company, is constructing a 23 MW solar power plant at its Varvara mine and a 40 MW gas piston power plant to reduce its carbon footprint. These facilities aim to maintain a steady power supply and will almost fully replace coal power stations. The company plans to invest USD 55 million for the projects, expected to be operational in Q2 2026. Solidcore intends to lower its carbon footprint and energy costs by using self-generated clean energy. Additionally, a 17 MW solar power plant may be built at its Kyzyl mine to further reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 27% compared to 2023.
