Soltec has unveiled a new floating tracker 'Flotus' designed for inland water bodies. The tracker features an east-west tracking system and an advanced naval design, enabling it to withstand water conditions. Ignacio Melón, general manager of Soltec Innovations, mentioned the optimized energy efficiency achieved through better orientation and solar tracking. The design includes longitudinal floaters and a floodable tank for stability. The tracker increases energy production by 15-25% and supports bifacial PV modules. Initial interest has been shown from developers in Spain and the United States for pilot projects.
