Hyme Energy, a spinoff of Denmark's Seaborg Technologies, is partnering with Semco Maritime to build a molten salt thermal energy storage demonstrator in Esbjerg, Denmark. The storage plant, using molten hydroxide salts, aims to display the company's storage technology by storing electricity from renewable sources. Hyme's storage system is scalable and cost-effective, based on low-cost sodium hydroxide production from seawater. The company envisions providing power and heat for households using its innovative technology.
