Scientists from Arizona State University discussed the importance of understanding mechanical-based failure mechanisms to enhance the stability and reliability of metal halide perovskite (MHP) modules and cells. The research emphasized the interconnection between various degradation modes, such as mechanical, thermal, and chemical stress, under light, heat, and humidity conditions. The team proposed setting a minimum fracture energy (Gc) for devices to ensure durability and reduce the potential for delamination and degradation.
