UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak faced calls to block plans by Mingyang to build a turbine factory in Scotland due to concerns about China's involvement in the UK's critical national energy infrastructure. Sunak mentioned the National Security and Investment Act 2021 and steps taken to prevent China's state-owned nuclear company from participating in new nuclear power stations. Mingyang's proposal to build a turbine facility in Scotland was added to a priority assessment list for the Scottish offshore wind energy council.
