Sunrise Wind transformers arrive in New York

Siemens Energy delivered four high voltage transformers for the Sunrise Wind farm, a joint venture between Orsted and Eversource Energy in New York. This marks Siemens Energy's first HVDC offshore grid connection in the US. The project, located about 30 miles east of Montauk, is set to be the largest offshore wind farm in the US, expected to power nearly 600,000 homes upon its expected completion in 2026. Recently, Eversource Energy agreed to sell its 50% stake in the project to Orsted.
