Szijjártó: No responsible green energy policy without nuclear power, electric mobility

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó emphasized the importance of energy policy that is no longer hostage of ideological debates and hypocrisy. He highlighted the significance of spreading nuclear power and accelerating electrification of road transportation for a safe, responsible, and carbon-neutral future. Szijjártó pointed out the need for a sovereign decision on the national energy mix and stressed the doubling of electricity consumption by 2030. He also discussed the role of nuclear energy in providing reliable electricity and criticized the ideological debates that neglected physical reality. Additionally, Szijjártó mentioned the issues related to gas pipeline capacity, energy mix transition, and collaborations between Western and Eastern companies.
