Tesla continues scaling up energy storage business in China

Tesla initiated its Megafactory in Shanghai in December 2023 to enter the Chinese market and address global energy storage demand. The factory will help fill capacity shortage and supply Tesla's global orders. Tesla also announced its construction in Shanghai's Lingang pilot free trade zone, signing supply deals and competing in China's utility-scale energy storage market.
