Scientists from Kyushu University studied the impact of photovoltaic installations on land surface temperature around the Kushida River Basin in central Japan. They used remote sensing and machine learning to analyze the spatial distribution and effects of different types of PV installations. The study revealed an increase in land surface temperature around PVs, with elevation, building density, and vegetation cover playing significant roles.
