Researchers at the Saitama University in Japan have developed a thin-film perovskite solar cell using fluorinated phosphoric acid passivating additives. The cell shows a high efficiency of 20.5% and improved power output, without the need for post-treatment methods. The cell does not contain methylammonium molecules, leading to enhanced stability. The research team applied TPFP directly into the perovskite precursor solution, resulting in a self-assembled passivating layer.
