Photovoltaic capacity in Turkey reached 13.9 GW by the end of last month, driven by industrial producers installing solar power plants for self-consumption. The legal framework simplification in Turkey and the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) motivated companies to build photovoltaic facilities. The government's policies allowed surplus electricity sale up to the equivalent of consumption, doubling optimal capacity. Turkey aims for a 32.9 GW solar power goal for 2030.
