The Turlock Irrigation District (TID) in California has increased its share of clean power in its portfolio from 33.1% in 2020 to 35.8% in 2022. TID has launched a request for proposals for renewable power projects to comply with the California Renewable Portfolio Standard, requiring utilities to generate half of their electricity from renewables by 2030. TID acquires electricity from SunPower's Rosamond solar farm and serves around 240,000 customers. The latest proposals are for utility-scale renewable projects with a minimum capacity of 50MW or 150,000MWh annually, including PPAs, RECs, and integration with CAISO's portfolio.
