U.S. solar industry on track to install 250 GW in five years

The U.S. solar industry installed 9.4 GW of new electric generation capacity in Q2 2024. The industry has added 75 GW of new capacity in the last two years. SEIA president Abigail Ross Hopper highlighted the industry's role in creating jobs and powering economic growth. The residential solar market faced challenges in California and nationally, leading to layoffs and bankruptcies. Commercial solar and utility-scale sectors showed growth, while community solar faced interconnection challenges.
