UK installers team up with British Gas for residential solar push

Two of the United Kingdom’s biggest solar installation businesses have partnered with British Gas to roll out the Hive Solar product. The exclusive installer for Hive Solar in England and Wales is Effective Energy Group, while Forster Group is the installation partner in Scotland. The aim is to drive more customers towards rooftop solar and increase awareness of solar and battery usage. Hive Solar integrates solar in the Hive app, allowing customers to track their energy generation and storage. Customers can also sell excess energy back to the grid through the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG). There are plans for a heat pump trial in partnership with Daikin to offer additional energy control options.
