Ukraine doubles electricity imports, also from Romania

Ukraine intends to double electricity imports due to a strong Russian attack on its energy system. Imports will increase to 16,699 MWh compared to 7,600 MWh the day before. Emergency assistance from Poland, Romania, and Slovakia is planned to alleviate the shortage during peak consumption hours. Ukraine, a net energy exporter before the Russian invasion, now faces supply interruptions and increased consumption.
