Urluescu: Household consumers, more affected by the increase in electricity bills, from 2025

Small consumers, especially those with consumption under 100 kilowatt-hours per month, will be most affected by the end of the energy price ceiling scheme starting from April 2025. Laurentiu Urluescu, president of the Romanian Energy Suppliers Association (AFEER), highlighted the imminent increase in electricity bills. The help for vulnerable consumers needs to be directed to those who really need it. Additionally, starting from 2026, suppliers are obliged to include the cost of carbon certificates in the natural gas bills for all consumers.
