An international research team has proposed a new PV module recycling process using deep eutectic solvents (DESs) to separate ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) from end-of-life solar panels. The research aims to recover valuable metals from the modules by avoiding the release of hazardous elements through conventional methods. DES solvents are considered environmentally friendly and cost-effective, offering potential for industrial production.
