Vattenfall, BASF line up Vestas for 1.6GW Nordlicht

Vattenfall, BASF, and Vestas have signed a contract to supply turbines for the Nordlicht offshore wind cluster in the German North Sea. The project aims to decarbonize the energy market in Europe, with Vattenfall having experience in offshore wind projects. Construction of Nordlicht 1 and 2 is scheduled to start in 2026, with full operational wind farms expected by 2028.
