Vattenfall, BASF line up Vestas for 1.6GW Nordlicht

Vattenfall and BASF have signed a contract with Vestas to supply turbines for the 1600MW Nordlicht offshore wind cluster in the German North Sea. Nordlicht will play a crucial role in achieving Germany's energy transition goals. The construction of Nordlicht 1 and 2 is scheduled to start in 2026 with the wind farms expected to be fully operational in 2028.
