Vestas V172 prototype ready to power up

Vestas has completed installation of the flagship EnVentus-range turbine at its Osterlid test centre in Denmark. The V172-7.2MW model is the Danish turbine manufacturer’s largest onshore wind turbine. The prototype will undergo extensive testing to ensure reliability before serial production begins. The V172-7.2MW is designed with a modular concept and enhances performance in low to medium wind conditions, increasing AEP by 12%.
