Vikram Solar announces $1.5 billion vertically integrated factory in the U.S.

Vikram Solar, an India-based solar module producer, has partnered with investors Phalanx Impact Partners and Das & Co. to create a U.S. joint venture, VSK Energy LLC, with plans to invest $1.5 billion in a vertically integrated solar manufacturing operation. The first phase includes a $250 million investment in a Colorado module manufacturing facility to create over 900 jobs. The second phase involves a second U.S. factory with an annual capacity of 4 GW. The new factories are expected to create over 1,500 direct jobs.
